Packed with essential nutrients, Mumm's Hard Red Spring Wheat is a must-have for any home gardener or health enthusiast.

Product Features:

Versatile and Nutritious:

  • Multiple Uses: Perfect for growing wheatgrass, sprouted wheat bread, milling, or short sprouts.
  • High Yield: 1/2 cup of dry seed yields approximately 4-5 cups of wheatgrass or sprouts.

Easy to Grow:

  • Quick Growth: Wheatgrass is ready to harvest in just 8-10 days, while sprouts are ready in 2-3 days.
  • Simple Soak: Requires 4-8 hours of soaking for optimal germination.

Long-Lasting Seeds:

  • Storage Tips: Seeds should sprout well for a year when stored in a cool, dry place. For extended germination life, store them in the fridge or freezer.

Growing Directions:

For Wheatgrass (Soil Method):

  1. Soak the Seed: Wash and soak the seed in water for 6-12 hours. Drain, rinse, and drain again after soaking.
  2. Prepare Soil: Add water to the soil 12 hours ahead of use until almost fully hydrated. Ensure the soil has perfect moisture content by squeezing; it should release only a drop of water.
  3. Fill Trays with Soil: Use a tray with holes, fill with 3/4-1.5” of soil. Smooth and flatten the soil without compacting it. Place a layer of paper towel on the bottom of the tray before adding soil for easier cleanup.
  4. Sow the Seed: Spread the soaked seed evenly over the soil in the tray, ensuring they don't overlap. Spread out any clumps with a spoon or your hands.
  5. Cover the Seed: Use parchment paper, a plastic sheet, or a wet unbleached paper towel layer to cover the seed. If not stacking trays, use a dome/lid to protect from drying out.
  6. Stack Trays: Stack 2-5 filled trays on top of each other with an empty tray on top and a weight in it. Check daily for water needs. Stack for 3-5 days.
  7. Expose to Light: After 2-5 days, move the trays to indirect sunlight or under grow lights.
  8. Water the Microgreens: Check daily and water as needed. Soil should be moist, not wet. Water from below as necessary.
  9. Harvest: Wheatgrass is usually harvested around 9-10 days. Use scissors or a sharp knife to cut. Ensure microgreens are dry before storing in the fridge.
